May 11, 2021 (newstodate): As legacy carriers struggle in the aftermath of the coronavirus, new airline projects keep popping up in Europe benefiting from low aircraft lease rates and - initially at least - free from debt piles.
New in the air will be Fly Lili, a Romanian airline founded in year 2020 and aiming at the charter and ACMI passenger and cargo markets.
Set up by four Romanian entrepreneurs, the carrier plans to take delivery of its first aircraft, an Airbus A320, already by the end of May 2021, later adding also its first freighter aircraft, an Airbus A300F earlier serving with the Turkish cargo carrier MNG Airlines.
In the plans are also scheduled services with Munich as the first destination, served from three Romanian airports.
