May 03, 2021 (newstodate): The coming new ACMI and charter airline in Lithuania, Heston Airlines is now close to receiving its AOC from the Lithuanian CAA.
-We are fully in the hands of Transporto Kompetenciju Agentura now, having basically finalized all paperwork, and hope to get our AOC by the end of this week, says Valentinas Jankelaitis, Heston Airlines CCO.
Since March 2020, the Irish aircraft leasing company Genesis has supported the strategy and development of the airline, delivering the airline’s first of three Airbus A320 aircraft in December 2020 to bolster the final stages of Heston Airlines' application with the Lithuanian CAA for an EASA Air Operator Certificate.
Already prior to receiving its AOC, the carrier has managed to obtain its CAMO approval, under a new EASA regulation requiring airlines get CAMO approval in parallel with the AOC.
Heston Airlines thus obtained its CAMO approval even before having actually landed its AOC.
Managed by Jonas Rinkauskas as CEO, Heston Airlines plans are to grow the aircraft fleet to seven aircraft by 2022, and up to 10 aircraft at a later stage.
