May 27, 2021 (newstodate): Another new airline project in Lithuania is advancing along its road to lift-off: Jump Air.
Jump Air has received its CAMO certificate and is thus now approaching a key milestone: completion of the process for obtaining an AOC and AOL.
This requires the delivery of its first aircraft, expected to be on hand by June 2021, already, after completion of its maintenance program.
Established in early 2020 with HQs at Vilnius in a partnership between AliPlan S.r.l and EU Wings S.r.l., Jump Air plans to enter the ACMI market with ATR72-200/-500 passenger aircraft.
Earlier, Jump Air aimed at start of operations already by Q1, 2021, but the airline now expects to launch services in time for the coming summer season when business is expected to build up again after a prolonged downturn.
-We would hardly be able to compete in the challenging west European markets, so our goal is rather to seek business in other markets, such as Africa or Asia, Dovydas Jurgelevicius, Jump Air Accountable Manager, told newstodate in February 2021.
-We will start out with just one passenger aircraft, and depending on cashflow after the first three to six months we will then decide on adding more capacity, also including the cargo market in our business plan, said Mr Jurgelevicius.
