May 18, 2021 (newstodate): Paperwork does take time - but the coming new ACMI and charter airline in Lithuania, Heston Airlines expects to receive its AOC from the Lithuanian CAA within only a few days.
The process was expected to be completed already by the start of May - but all documentation has now been approved by Transporto Kompetenciju Agentura, leaving only the final signatures and stamps to be attached.
Already CAMO approved, the airline managed by Jonas Rinkauskas as CEO took delivery of its first of three Airbus A320 aircraft in December 2020; the second unit is now on the approach and will be added to the AOC by end of May, with the third unit scheduled for delivery in August/September 2021.
The aircraft are delivered on a lease contract with the Irish aircraft leasing company Genesis, and plans are to grow the fleet to seven aircraft by 2022, and up to 10 aircraft at a later stage.
In addition to serving customers in the passenger flights market, Heston Airlines will also seek a foothold in the cargo market, offering all-cargo flights will all passenger seats removed for full utilization of the capacity.
