May 25, 2021 (newstodate): The new Lithuanian CMI and charter airline in Lithuania, Heston Airlines has now landed its AOC.
After seven months of paperwork, Lithuania's Transporto Kompetencijų Agentura issued the document on May 21, 2021, and the airline took delivery of its first of three Airbus A320 aircraft in December 2020; the second unit is now on the approach and will be added to the AOC by end of May, while the third unit is slated for delivery in August/September 2021 - all delivered on a lease contract with the Irish aircraft leasing company Genesis.
Already CAMO approved, the airline is managed by Jonas Rinkauskas as CEO.
-Our aim is to operate 50/50 split between ACMI and charter operations - but with the immediate outlook, the market for ACMI will be slow in opening, leading us to focus on charter operations from the start.
-However, in the longer run, relying on only one leg in business will be too vulnerable, Mr Rinkauskas earlier told newstodate.
