May 10, 2021 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport managed to grow its total cargo volumes in January-April 2021 - but primarily due to the growth in the integrator traffic.
While the airport's four-month 2021 total volumes were thus up by two percent, y-o-y, to 84,657 tonnes, integrators DHL and FedEx saw their joint volumes up by 9.6 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 27,330 tonnes.
The integrators' growth was driven by a steep increase by 16.1 percent in volumes carried on all-cargo aircraft, which totaled 22,351 tonnes.
With 4,961 tonnes, trucked integrator cargo played a minor role despite an increase by 18.3 percent during January-April 2021.
Recognizing the role of Copenhagen Airport, DHL recently received the building permit for a new 26,000 m2 Northern Europe Hub.
Construction works have already commenced, and the new hub is expected to launch operations by Q4, 2022.
