May 06, 2021 (newstodate): Greenland's government has decided to ease the restrictions on entry into the country by air passengers.
For a long period, Air Greenland has served as a provider of air services to the Greenland government, offering three weekly rotations on the trunk route between Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, and Copenhagen Airport to secure provisions of supplies and essential-only passenger transportation.
From May 3, 2021, Air Greenland is again operating on commercial terms with three weekly rotations between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen Airport, while incoming passenger volumes are still restricted to 600 per week.
While passengers may now again enter Greenland without prior official permits, they are still required to be quarantined and to deliver a negative Covid-19 test on the 5th day before being released into freedom.
