May 27, 2021 (newstodate): Norwegian is now again free to commence commercial flights after exiting from the examinership processes in Dublin and Oslo and obtaining approval of its restructuring plan.
For a start, Norwegian will be operating a fleet comprising four owned and 44 leased aircraft for operations on a short-haul network primarily in Norway and the Nordics or from Norway/the Nordics to Continental Europe.
Norwegian has also an additional three aircraft under documentation to be retained and leased, and all 51 Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be operated based on "Power by the Hour" agreements through Q1/2022 which significantly increases the company’s flexibility and limit lease payments in the event of a prolonged period with challenging markets due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
