May 21, 2021 (newstodate): The Danish charter and ACMI carrier Great Dane Airlines keeps the delivery of its potential 4th aircraft in a waiting position..
-At this moment, our first priority is to keep our three aircraft busy. We are of course always looking for potentials for growth, but so far we have no plans for adding a fourth aircraft to the fleet, says Thomas Hugo Moller, Great Dane Airlines CEO.
The carrier launched business with one Embraer 195LR aircraft delivered on May 16, 2019, adding a second Embraer 195LR on June 24, 2019 - and a third aircraft on November 27, 2019.
The three ex-Stobart Air aircraft are owned by an aircraft leasing company set up by the airline's investor Eigil B. Christensen, who transfers the aircraft to Great Dane Airlines on a leasing contract.
Already in April 2020, plans were to add the 4th Embraer 195LR aircraft, earlier operated by the UK carrier flybe, and the aircraft remains stored at Norwich Airport painted in Great Dane Airlines' livery.
According to industry sources, this aircraft registered OY-GDD may now instead be prepared for delivery to another operator.
