May 12, 2021 (newstodate): The senior management of the ACMI carrier Air Atlanta Icelandic and its affiliates has acquired 20 percent of the company's shares.
The objective of the transaction by Baldvin M. Hermannsson, the company’s CEO, and a group of senior management is to further strengthen and grow the Air Atlanta business in the coming years.
-Our investment in the Company underlines our firm belief in Air Atlanta, and we remain fully committed to lead the Company into the future, says Baldvin M. Hermannsson, Air Atlanta Icelantic CEO, in a comment to the transaction.
-Our ambition to grow and further strengthen Air Atlanta in coming years will represent new and exciting challenges for us all. We intend to introduce new aircraft types into the fleet and broaden our market reach through the combined synergies of our two AOCs in Iceland and Malta, he says.
Currently operating a global network with nine Boeing 747-400 freighters, Air Atlanta remains committed to re-enter the passenger widebody ACMI business, at the same time as the Company intends to further strengthen its position in the world’s international freight market.
