Apr 28, 2021 (newstodate): The Danish EASA and FAA part 145 approved MRO provider Skyways Technics has completed a sale-lease back transaction with Billund Airport.
Owning a 8,000 m2 hangar at the airport since 2012, Skyways Technics is now instead leasing the facility after a sale to Billund Airport that is building its vision of the Airport City to attract aviation-related businesses with conference and office facilities as well as distribution centers and production sites.
Skyways Technics is working on a strategy of growth and expansion with HQs at Sonderborg, Denmark, and a subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur, a sales office located in Dubai, and a sales office in Florida, employing a total of some 150 staff.
Skyways Technics also opened a new subsidiary in early 2020 at Lithuania's Kaunas Airport that is an established center for aircraft maintenance.
Built on the former Cimber Air technical department, Skyways Technics managed by Benjamin Nielsen as CEO has its focus on maintenance, repair and spare part support for ATR and CRJ aircraft.
