Apr 12, 2021 (newstodate): Qatar Airways has now confirmed that its all-cargo service today out of Evenes Airport to Doha Airport will be moved to Bodo due to runway modifications at Evenes Airport from April 22, 2021.
The airline will operate its last flight out of Evenes Airport on April 2, 2021, and starting up at Bodo Airport from April 22 with one weekly departure.
During the period April 22-July 14, 2021, the shortened runway will not allow operations with large and fully loaded aircraft like Qatar Airways' Boeing 777-300, while the smaller Boeing 787-9 aircraft operated by Virgin Atlantic will probably be able to continue operations without limitations during the construction period.
Both airline operations serve seafood exporters in the northern region with uplift to the global marketplace, with Qatar Airways starting from December 14, 2020, and Virgin Atlantic following suit from February 3, 2021.
