Apr 28, 2021 (newstodate): The new Swedish airline in the making, Northern Airlines is still to land its AOC.
According to information from the Swedish CAA Transportstyrelsen, the first application delivered in October 2020 was turned down in December due to lack of adequate information.
A second application was then filed in January 2021 and is still being worked upon by the regulator, while a date of completion of the process remains pending.
In the meantime, Northern Airlines is building up its competencies, including filling the position as Chief Financial Officer.
With Dlovan Sandi as Project Manager, the company was established in 2019 with plans for a fleet starting out in 2021 with one Boeing 737-800 aircraft, growing to three units before the end of this year.
Plans are to launch services to Beirut and Malaga as the carrier's first destinations served from Stockholm Airport.
