Apr 06, 2021 (newstodate): Compared with March 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic struck, cargo volumes through Denmark's Billund Airport recovered strongly in March 2021.
A total of 7,456 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by 34.9 percent, y-o-y, including 1,843 tonnes of imports up 13 percent, and 5,613 tonnes of exports that were up by 44 percent.
In the first quarter of 2021, the airport has thus handled 17,959 tonnes of cargo which is an increase by 7.8 percent, y-o-y.
Import volumes were however still down by 3.1 percent, while exports increased by 12.2 percent.
In Q1, 2020, the airport handled 16,653 tonnes which was a drop by 6.8 percent, with imports down 13.4 percent and exports trailing behind by 3.9 percent.
