Apr 20, 2021 (newstodate): After today, the runway at Norway's Evenes Airport will become a bit quieter again as Qatar Airways performs its so far last all-cargo flight at the airport.
As the airports starts its runway works project on April 20 planned to be completed by July 14, 2021, the temporary shortening of the runway will not allow full-load operations with the airline's weekly Boeing 777-300 all-cargo flight to Doha with Norwegian seafood shipments for Asia.
Starting from April 22, 2021, the carrier will thus move the flights to Bodo Airport instead.
Operating a smaller Boeing 787-9 with two weekly all-cargo flights launched on February 3, 2021, from Evenes to London Heathrow, Virgin Atlantic Cargo will remain at Evenes Airport during the runway reconstruction period.
