Apr 28, 2021 (newstodate): Finnair has added a new destination to its all-cargo flights network: Pittsburgh, in the USA.
The first flight was performed on April 27, 2021, and so far four Airbus A350 all-cargo flights are planned for this week, presumably serving the automotive industry with the aircraft flying in from Nagoya, in Japan, and continuing to Pittsburgh after a brief technical stop and crew change at Helsinki Airport.
Both Nagoya and Pittsburgh are key destinations in the car industries of Japan and the USA.
Due to Helsinki's optimal geographical position for flights between Asia and the US, the Nagoya-Helsinki-Pittsburgh flight is actually perceived as a same-day delivery service..
