Apr 23, 2021 (newstodate): The Faroe Islands' Atlantic Airways has found a new customer for its superfluous Airbus A319 aircraft.
The airline has landed a lease contract for the A319 with Canarian Airways, and the aircraft has already been ferried from Vagar Airport to London Southend Airport for paint with the new livery of its operator.
Canarian Airways was set up earlier this year by a group of hotel businessmen from Tenerife together with One Airways that will be the operator of the aircraft, with plans to connect destinations on the Canarian Islands with a network of European destinations, starting out from June 2021.
Atlantic Airways' Airbus A319 will become the first and so far only aircraft in the new carrier's fleet.
