Apr 07, 2021 (newstodate): The Swedish charter carrier NOVAIR has found a new owner: the Danish Jet Nordic Group, owned by Danish national Lars Thuesen.
Today, the owners of NOVAIR are the tour operators Apollo and DER Touristik, and the transaction is slated to be completed in August 2021, signaling a close cooperation between NOVAIR and the other charter carrier owned by Jet Nordic Group, Jettime, in a strategic partnership with the two tour operators.
In the fleet of NOVAIR are two Airbus A321neo, while Jettime's fleet comprises four Boeing 737-800 and one Boeing 737-700 aircraft, today in active storage during the coronavirus pandemic.
It remains to be seen if the two airlines will continue under own brands and managements, or be merged at a later stage.
The acquisition of NOVAIR marks Mr Thuesen's third airline ownership, holding a stake in the Latvian carrier airBaltic since April 2017.
