Apr 16, 2021 (newstodate): Earlier this month, the Swedish charter carrier NOVAIR found a new owner: the Danish Jet Nordic Group, owned by Danish investor Lars Thuesen.
Mr Thuesen is also owner of JT3H A/S that comprises the Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jettime. Legally, the two airlines will thus remain unconnected as independent entities under different holding companies.
In the fleet of NOVAIR are two Airbus A321neo, while Jettime's fleet comprises four Boeing 737-800 and one Boeing 737-700 aircraft, today in active storage during the coronavirus pandemic.
-There are currently no plans or decisions on how the two individual charter carriers will cooperate in the future. The transfer of NOVAIR to Jet Nordic Group will be completed only by August, but we will obviously seek potentials for synergies in the future, says Jorgen Holme, Jettime CEO.
-For Jettime, the priority remains to get our aircraft back into the air by July as the summer season unfolds, while progress in the Nordic and European vaccine programs remains crucial to reigniting demands for aircraft capacity in the charter and ACMI markets.
-So far, we still have no firm contracts with tour operators while the dialogue remains open. We have however now launched the process towards reactivating our fleet even if we are still not secured of the necessary financial basis for start of operations.
-One fact stands out: we must get airborne by July 2021 to remain a viable provider to customers in the charter as well as in the ACMI markets, says Mr Holme.
