Mar 04, 2021 (newstodate): Despite the continuing rage of coronavirus, Turkish Airlines is close to having fully restored its network of routes to Iran after the Covid-19 lock-down periods.
The last Iranian destination to be restored is Shiraz, with Turkish Airlines reopening flights from Istanbul from March 10, 2021.
Turkish Airlines's full network comprises flights to Tehran, Shiraz, Mashhad, Tabriz, and Isfahan, but all scheduled flights to Iran were suspended in February 2020.
Since then, several attempts were made to restore parts of the traffic, but only on September 25, 2020, the airline returned scheduled flights to Tehran, followed by the reopening of flights to Tabriz in October 2020.
In March 2021, Turkish Airlines will be operating 22 weekly flights to Tehran, six weekly flights to Tabriz, three flights to Shiraz and Mashhad, and two flights to Isfahan.
