Mar 11, 2021 (newstodate): Following a tender process, Albania has decided on the construction of a new international airport.
The airport to become the country's third international airport after Tirana International Airport and Kukes International Airport will be built at Vlore on the Adriatic coast, primarily targeting the tourist traffic.
A consortium consisting of the Swiss Mabco Constructions, the Turkish YDA Group and Kosovo 2A Group won the tender, and talks are now to start on March 15, 2021, with signing of the eventual contract to be concluded within 30 days.
