Mar 17, 2021 (newstodate): Cargo statistics from Riga Airport paints a picture of a sustained drop in total volumes in February 2021.
   A total of 1,495 tonnes of cargo and mail was thus handled at the airport, a decline by 19.6 percent, y-o-y.
   However, the totals included 1,015 tonnes of cargo which was actually a positive growth by 5.5 percent, thanks to an increase by over 50 percent in all-cargo and freighter operations, outweighing the shortfall of cargo capacity on passenger aircraft.  
   On the other hand, mail generated only 480 tonnes, down 46 percent, y-o-y, marked again by the virtual stop to passenger flights during lock-down in the markets.
