Mar 10, 2021 (newstodate): Norway's regional carrier Wideroe has plans for more traffic to the UK in 2021.
The carrier has now announced the opening of flights on a new route connecting Bergen and London Heathrow Airport, starting from May 20, 2021, with six weekly rotations using Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.
Wideroe launched flights on another route from Bergen to London Southend from August 31, 2020, with two weekly rotations, but this route will probably now be cancelled.
While the E190-E2 offers a limited cargo capacity, it still carries cargo targeting the UK and Norwegian off-shore industries' need for spares and staff transportation, with cargo sales in the UK market entrusted to Wexco Cargo GSSA since March 2020.
Wideroe also serves from Bergen with two daily rotations on a route to Aberdeen.
