Mar 01, 2021 (newstodate): Plans by the Russian LCC Pobeda to launch flights to Latvia's Riga Airport have again been stalled, or at least postponed.
According to the preliminary schedule for summer 2021, Pobeda was to launch flights from June 1, 2021, to Riga from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport with two daily rotations - but this has now been taken off the monitor.
Already two years ago, Riga was slated to become the carrier's first destination in the Baltic region, starting out with one rotation between Moscow Vnukovo Airport and Riga Airport from July 2019, earlier rescheduled to start from April 30, 2019, with three weekly rotations.
Later, plans were to launch two weekly rotations, going up six weekly flights from September 16, 2019, and eventually expanding to daily flights from October 1, 2019.
Then the Covid-19 lock-down hit the plans..
