Mar 12, 2021 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport will get even more connections to Turkey in summer 2021.
Starting from March 14, 2021, Turkish Airlines will increase services between Vilnius and Istanbul with a fifth frequency on Sundays, offering onward connections to 226 destinations on the carrier's network.
For the first time in the Baltic region, the tour operator Tiketa, part of the Avia Solutions Group, also plans to launch flights with own aircraft on a daily basis between Vilnius and Turkish leisure destinations, with details yet to be revealed.
Turkish Airlines has been operating flights to Lithuania since June 11, 2013, when the carrier launched services on a triangular route Istanbul-Vilnius-Tallinn-Istanbul.
Later, from October 26, 2014, Turkish Airlines split the triangular service, offering instead direct flights between Istanbul and Tallinn as well as between Istanbul and Vilnius.
On the cargo side, Turkish Cargo has been online at Vilnius Airport since April 19, 2018, with a twice-weekly freighter service to Istanbul.
