Mar 01, 2021 (newstodate): Moldova's cargo carrier Aerotranscargo has set its eyes on gaining a presence in the EU.
The carrier has thus applied with the Dutch CAA for obtaining an AOC and commercial license for a new subsidiary, Aerotranscargo NL, to be based at Amsterdam Airport and aiming at flights to the USA and China.
The coming new subsidiary to be managed by former Martinair/KLM Cargo excutives will have two Boeing 747-400F aircraft leased from the Moldovan mother company.
Plans are to grow the fleet to four aircraft in 2024, and eventually to 10 aircraft after having replaced the Boeing 747-400F with more fuel-efficient Boeing 747-8F and Boeing 777F aircraft.
In the fleet of Aerotranscargo are now seven Boeing 747-400F, with the latest delivery only on February 8, 2021.
