Mar 09, 2021 (newstodate): Lithuania's government has drafted a plan for recovery and development of the country's air connectivity targeting 110 destinations by 2024, Lithuanian media report.
Prior to the current Covid-19 pandemic, Lithuania's three international airports offered flights to 92 destinations while this is now down to only 15 destinations.
According to the plan, the pre-pandemic level will be reached again by mid-2022; hopes are to see the volume of destinations from Lithuanian airports increase to some 45 by the end of this month already, while the target for passenger volumes is to see half of the 2019-levels back before the end of this year as well.
The government is working to get its plan confirmed by the parliament by Q3, 2021, and the airport infrastructure will also receive a boost to raise traffic and passenger volumes.
