Mar 18, 2021 (newstodate): So far into 2021, Iceland's Keflavik Airport has performed relatively well in cargo volumes, considering the over-all effects from the Coronavirus.
In January and February 2021, the airport handled a total of 8,634 tonnes of cargo and mail, which was 5.4 percent down on 2020.
Included in the totals were 8,491 tonnes of cargo, down 4.5 percent, and 142 tonnes of mail, down by 40 percent, y-o-y.
Comparing the two years it should be noted, however, that 2020 was also a leap year, with one more day in February.
Last year, the airport handled a total of 49,221 tonnes of cargo and mail, which was a decline by 9.8 percent, y-o-y.
