Mar 18, 2021 (newstodate): Auguring a return of life after the Covid-19 lock-downs, Icelandair is returning flights between Keflavik and Portland in summer 2021.
The carrier will be operating three weekly rotations on the route during the period July 2-October 31, 2021.
The seasonally-served route was opened with the first flight on May 21, 2015, but suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The route opening is facilitated by the announcement that all passengers verifying a full Covid-19 vaccination will be allowed to travel to Iceland without being subject to additional border measures.
Iceland is thus one of the first European countries to open its borders beyond the Schengen area.
