Mar 03, 2021 (newstodate): Work is progressing on readying Global Airways Lithuania to launch business.
A subsidiary of the South African carrier Global Airways, the coming new Lithuanian passenger airline to be based in Vilnius will be offering charter and ACMI services with Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
Global Airways' application for an AOC is currently being handled by Lithuania's Transporto Kompetenciju Agentura that confirms a smooth and professional communication with the airline, driving the process forward towards completion.
Speaking to newstodate in October 2020, Global Airways confirmed its intention to launch flights from the coming summer season, pending the completion of the AOC and Operational License processes.
-Establishing our Lithuanian subsidiary will grant us with opportunities to expand into new European markets with a cost base lower than most of our competitors; we own all of our aircraft and have no lease obligations.
-From the start, we will move one Airbus A320 aircraft from our South African AOC to our coming Lithuanian AOC, and we are certainly to expand by adding new own aircraft directly as markets develop after the Covid-19 pandemic, Bruno Kaspar, Global Airways Lithuania said.
