Mar 02, 2021 (newstodate): February 2021 marked the coming of spring, or at least a cautious return to more normal times, in cargo volumes at Billund Airport.
The airport thus handled a total of 5,431 tonnes of cargo, which was an increase by 4.2 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes were up in both imports and exports, with imports growing 5.5 percent to 1,315 tonnes, while exports also grew by 3.8 percent to 4,116 tonnes.
As the Coronavirus hit in early 2020, the airport's cargo volumes in February dipped by 7.3 percent; imports dipped the most, down 19 percent to 1,246 tonnes, while exports also suffered in February 2020, down 2.9 percent to 3,964 tonnes.
In January-February 2021 Billund Airport has been handling a total of 10,503 tonnes of cargo, still down 5.6 percent, y-o-y, including 2,743 tonnes of imports, down 11.6 percent, and 7.760 tonnes of exports, down 3.3 percent, y-o-y.
