Feb 02, 2021 (newstodate): Trondheim Airport did not survive long as a base for Wizz Air in its plans for domestic flights in Norway.
The carrier has announced that the Trondheim base will be closed down with short notice.
The second phase of Wizz Air's plan for Norwegian domestic flights lifted off only from December 17, 2020, as Wizz Air opened Trondheim as a new base with two Airbus A321neo aircraft to successively offer flights to Stavanger, Bodo and Tromso.
The market demand has however not sufficed to keep the plan going, leaving Oslo Airport as the only base for Wizz Air's operations in Norway.
