Feb 08, 2021 (newstodate): It's full speed ahead for the new all-cargo service by Qatar Airways Cargo at Norway's Harstad-Narvik Airport, Evenes.
The ground-breaking all-cargo service was launched with the first flight on December 14, 2020, flying in with a Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft to lift 50 tonnes of seafood to Doha for transfer on Qatar Airways flights to destinations in Asia.
But loads are growing, and today Qatar Airways Cargo set a new record today by lifting no less than 68,944 kg fresh salmon on its Boeing 777-300 aircraft to Doha.
Services are scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and behind the all-cargo service is Perishable Center Nord established in 2020, with main shareholders including Nordlaks Opdrett, Ellingsen Seafood, Salfra and Astafjord Export demonstrating a firm backing in the industry.
