Feb 16, 2021 (newstodate): In 2020, Norwegian seafood exports generated 110,000 of cargo flown out of Oslo Airport to the world's marketplaces.
According to Norwegian media citing Avinor, Qatar Airways lifted 43,446 tonnes of seafood from Oslo to Doha for onward transfer; combined, Korean Air and Ethiopian lifted 15,170 tonnes to Seoul, South Korea; Emirates accounted for 14,350 tonnes into Dubai; together, CAL and El Al flew 8,464 tonnes into Tel Aviv; Silk Way West lifted 6,060 tonnes out of Oslo; and Turkish Airlines accounted for uplift of 5,393 tonnes into Istanbul.
In total, Oslo Airport handled 167,352 tonnes of cargo in 2020, down seven percent, of which 153,496 tonnes was international cargo.
No statistics covering the volume of trucked cargo handled at Oslo Airport are available, but in 2018 Avinor said that some 40 percent was flown cargo while another 60 percent was carried on trucks into other Nordic and continental European hubs for uplift.
