Feb 22, 2021 (newstodate): Little has been heard of a new Swedish airline under formation: Nordic Airways.
The carrier managed by Michael Bo Forvass as Mng Dir was to offer charter and ACMI services with HQs at Sweden's Stockholm Airport.
Now, Nordic Airways has posted a message on LinkedIn:
-The continued uncertainty in society and within the travel industry in particular has led us to choose to postpone our application for an Air Operator Certificate. We believe it may take up to another year before travel returns to significant levels.
-This puts our project with Nordic Airways on hold. We will continue to monitor the market, and maybe we come back when demand returns, the message reads.
The Swedish CAA, Transportstyrelsen now says that the company never actually applied for a Swedish AOC.
-In 2020, we were in a general and committing dialogue with Northern Airways, ending with no concrete follow-up or an application for an AOC.
-Since then, we had no indications that the company intended to apply for a Swedish AOC, Transportstyrelsen says.
