Feb 09, 2021 (newstodate): The coming new low-cost airline under formation in Norway, Flyr has set up a strong team of professionals to steer its course in aircraft procurement.
An aircraft procurement advisory team has thus been appointed, including David Kelmanson, CEO of Larus Aviation Limited joining as Senior Financial Advisor; Bjarki Magnusson, CEO of Ursa Minor ehf, will be Flyr's Technical Advisor, and Richard Skipper, Partner at DLA Piper, joins Flyr as Legal Advisor.
Mr Kelmanson has provided financial advice to airlines on numerous fleet procurement and financing projects; Mr Magnusson has a background of 13 years with Iceland, last serving till December 2020 as Fleet Director Operations; Mr Skipper is partner in a leading UK-based global legal firm.
Depending on the developments around the Covid-19 pandemic and the granting of its AOC, the carrier plans to launch flights on June 1, 2021, with a fleet comprising eight leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft, set to grow to 20 aircraft in a second phase.
