Feb 10, 2021 (newstodate): A new airline under formation in Lithuania, Jump Air is readying for launch of flights.
Established in early 2020 with HQs at Vilnius in a partnership between AliPlan S.r.l and EU Wings S.r.l., Jump Air plans to enter the ACMI market with ATR72-200/-500 passenger aircraft.
-We are now in the final stages of obtaining our AOC and AOL and have been talking to various lessors to source the ideal aircraft for our start of services. We have completed this process, but the selected aircraft is still undergoing maintenance, says Dovydas Jurgelevicius, Jump Air Accountable Manager.
-Our earlier plan was to start flights already by Q1, 2021; despite these ambitions we are now instead aiming at launch by the middle of next quarter, still in time for the coming summer season when business will hopefully build up again after a prolonged downturn.
-We would hardly be able to compete in the challenging west European markets, so our goal is rather to seek business in other markets such as Africa or Asia.
-We start out with just one passenger aircraft, and depending on cashflow after the first three to six months we will then decide on adding more capacity, also including the cargo market in our business plan, says Mr Jurgelevicius.
