Feb 11, 2021 (newstodate): Airbus is now working on this year's first Airbus A220-300 aircraft for the Latvian carrier airBaltic.
The new aircraft has hit the Final Assembly Line at the plant in Montreal, poised to become the 26th of its type in the fleet of airBaltic.
Another six aircraft are registered for production in the months ahead, also to be delivered to airBaltic before the end of 2021 and taking the fleet to 32 aircraft.
In August 2020, airBaltic and Airbus signed an agreement on a revised Airbus A220-300 delivery schedule for the remaining aircraft on firm orders.
Under the agreement, airBaltic will take delivery of the last, and 50th, of the remaining Airbus A220-300 ordered by early 2024, earlier slated for 2023.
airBaltic was the launch carrier of the Bombardier CS300, later renamed Airbus A220-300, with its first CS300 on scheduled flights from December 14, 2016.
