Feb 09, 2021 (newstodate): The first European airline to return the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to service after 22 months on the ground will be the Czech carrier Smartwings.
Plans are to lift off with the MAX aircraft on the first flight on February 25, 2021, connecting Prague and Palma de Mallorca.
In the fleet of Smartwings are now seven Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft grounded since April 2019, with orders placed for a total of 11 units.
According to market sources, Icelandair plans to operate its first Boeing 737 MAX flight on March 26, 2021, on the route between Keflavik and Berlin.
