Feb 09, 2021 (newstodate): DHL Global Forwarding is cooperating with Moscow Cargo terminal and the Russian Direct Investment Fund in organizing shipments of the Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine abroad and across the Russian Federation.
Until recently, the transportation of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine required the use of thermal containers with refrigerants capable of maintaining the temperature declared by the developer –18/-20 C along the entire route to the final consignee.
But on January 21, 2021, the Russian Ministry of Health approved changes to the Sputnik V registration certificate, confirming that the manufacturer was able to ensure the stability of the liquid form of the vaccine at a temperature of +2/+8 C.
This mode is standard for the storage and delivery of immuno-biological shipments by air and greatly simplifies the transportation process, allowing to expand the coverage and increase the availability of mass vaccination programs.
During the period from November 19, 2020, to January 30, 2021, Moscow Cargo at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has serviced 60 flights, delivering more than 260 specialized thermal containers with Sputnik V vaccine totaling some 30.5 tonnes.
