Feb 26, 2021 (newstodate): The Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jettime is kept sitting on the fence awaiting the reopening of borders for this year's summer charter traffic.
-In our fleet are four Boeing 737-800 and one Boeing 737-700 aircraft in active storage, but still no aircraft in the air, says Birthe Madsen Jettime VP Management Support.
-Our core organization comprising the nominated postholders is preparing for a summer season still shrouded by the uncertainties around this year's leisure travel.
-The start of operations has been postponed repeatedly as the Covid-19 closed down destinations and countries around Europe. Now, our goal is to reopen flights in June 2021 from Denmark and Sweden and possibly also Finland for our single largest customer, TUI Nordic. But with the sustained uncertainties, no charter contracts have yet been finalized.
-Plans for recruitment and training of crews are ready for implementation once the national travel restrictions are lifted. And given the huge demand for air travel accumulated during the current Covid-19 period, we are convinced that tour operators will see a boom in sales, notably in the coming late-summer and winter seasons.
-We expect Jettime to be among the prime providers of capacity to cover these needs, says Ms Madsen.
