Feb 24, 2021 (newstodate): Not surprisingly, statistics from Copenhagen Airport show a drop in total cargo volumes, commercial and integrators included, by 29.3 percent, y-o-y, to 18,982 tonnes in January 2021.
Cargo on commercial carriers alone was down by 39.4 percent to 12,506 tonnes, including 6,034 tonnes of belly cargo in passenger flights, down 45.8 percent as this traffic came to a virtual stop as the Covid-10 struck early in 2020 and is only slowly picking up in 2021.
Rather surprisingly, the airport reports no all-cargo flights by commercial carriers in January 2021 while this traffic generated 235 tonnes in January 2020.
Mail volumes were also halved, down 49.2 percent to 1,145 tonnes, while trucked air cargo performed comparatively better, down 24.2 percent, y-o-y, to 5,327 tonnes in January 2021.
In contrast to the commercial airlines, integrators DHL and FedEx increased their total volumes by 4.3 percent, y-o-y, to 6,476 tonnes in January 2021.
