Feb 23, 2021 (newstodate): Helsinki Airport is temporarily losing two Chinese routes after findings of Covid-19 among passengers into China.
The routes connect Helsinki with Shanghai and Zhengzhou, respectively, operated by the Chinese carrier Juneyao Airlines.
Under the strict Covid-19 regime administered by the Chinese CAAC, Juneyao Air suspended flights on the Helsinki-Shanghai route for two weeks from February 22, 2021, in addition to the suspension of flights on the route between Helsinki and Zhengzou.
Juneyao Airlines launched flights between Shanghai and Helsinki as its first European destination on June 28, 2019, with daily rotations during the summer schedule and three weekly rotations during the winter schedule - currently down to one weekly flight due to Covid-19.
From October 12, 2020, Juneyao Airlines added flights on the route between Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and Helsinki Airport with one weekly rotation using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
