Feb 18, 2021 (newstodate): Aviator Airport Alliance AB has come off to a good start serving SAS at three new airports in Norway, adding to its progress in the Nordic markets.
Starting from February 1, 2021, Aviator provides ground handling and de-icing services for SAS at the airports in Bergen, Tromso and Kristiansand under the contract signed in July 2020 and running for an initial five-year period.
The general corona-driven crisis in the global aviation industry has taken a heavy toll on airport ground handling providers as well - but at least Aviator Airport Alliance AB seems to retain its foothold in the Nordic markets.
In July 2020, Aviator announced agreement extensions with Norwegian to provide ground handling services for the airline until March 2024 at 10 stations in Norway in addition to Sweden's Stockholm-Arlanda and Malmo airports.
Previously, the company signed ground handling agreements with SAS for the next five years at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Malmo Airport, starting from September 1, 2020.
And in October 2020, Aviator announced a key contract at Helsinki Airport with Finnair, to take effect from March 3, 2021.
On February 14, 2020, Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group acquired Aviator from its former owner, the investment fund Accent Equity 2008.
Overall, Aviator employs a workforce of some 2,500 staff serving airlines at 11 airports in Norway, three airports in Sweden, and one in Denmark and Finland.
