Feb 15, 2021 (newstodate): So far, only 20 ATR aircraft have found their way into Russian airlines.
The latest new operator is the Krasnoyarsk-based airline KrasAir that has taken delivery of two ex-Swedish ATR 72-500 aircraft formerly operated by Braathens Regional and owned by the Swedish aircraft lessor Erik Thun AB.
After a three-months handling of the paperwork pertaining to the deal by the Russian authorities, the aircraft performed the first commercial operation by its new owner on February 5, 2021.
Earlier, the Russian carrier NordStar took in five ATR 42-500 aircraft, and UTair now operates 13 ATR 72-500 aircraft.
