Dec 02, 2021 (newstodate): In November 2010, the EU Commission found SAS and other airlines guilty of alleged participation in a global air cargo cartel in 1999–2006.
SAS was ordered to pay a fine of MEUR 70.2, but appealed the decision in January 2011 - and in December 2015, the EU Court of Justice annulled the verdict and the money was repaid to SAS.
However, the EU Commission took a new decision in March 2017 and again fined SAS - and SAS appealed again..
Now, a verdict is expected to be announced on March 30, 2022.
-Unfavorable outcomes in these disputes could have a significantly negative financial impact on SAS. Further lawsuits by cargo customers cannot be ruled out. No provisions have been made, the SAS Group says in its Interim Report Q4, 2021, out on November 30, 2021.
