Dec 14, 2021 (newstodate): SWISS has announced details of its Summer 2022 program, with some news concerning services in the Baltic and Nordic regions.
   One of five new European routes in the SWISS program will be flights from Zurich to Vilnius from the end of March 2022, competing with the Latvian carrier airBaltic that has also put the route on its map from Vilnius by late March 2020.
   The route was last opened by the carrier Germania from June 2, 2016, as the first direct air link between the two destinations since 2008, but the carrier folded its wings in bankruptcy in February 2019.
   As for frequencies, the routes from Zurich to Tallinn launched on June 25, 2021, and to Billund, served by Swiss from June 2, 2021, will see some of the biggest year-on-year increases in capacities, SWISS says.
