Dec 06, 2021 (newstodate): Norway has long been a popular charter destination for tourists from South Korea - and hopes are now to see charter flights returning again in summer 2022.
According to Innovation Norway, the leading South Korean tour operator Interpark Tour has announced its intention of seeing charter flights by Asiana between Seoul and Oslo back on the program from April/March 2022.
Only four years ago, Norway was positioned as Koran Air's second-largest charter market, but the Covid-19 put brakes on this traffic from summer 2020, cancelling plans for a weekly rotation between Seoul and Oslo with Airbus A330-200 aircraft during the period June 19 - August 14, 2020.
Korean Air first launched summer charter flights to Norway in May 2013, while the carrier has been online with scheduled freighter flights since March 9, 2004.
So far, the carrier has not aired any intention of setting up passenger flights to Norway on a scheduled basis.
