Dec 01, 23021 (newstodate): Flying deeply in red figures, SAS continues to develop its concept for subsidiaries named SAS Connect and SAS Link.
According to info provided in connection with the release of the depressing FY21 results, SAS announced its decision to launch services with SAS Connect and SAS Link by early 2022.
Furthermore, SAS is also evaluating options to expand SAS Connect to Oslo and Stockholm.
The two new subsidiaries will have their own AOCs.
Operating as a capacity provider to SAS, SAS Connect will be based on SAS Ireland, and so far SAS has placed nine Airbus A320neo family aircraft with SAS Connect serving SAS with flights from London and Copenhagen.
Operating as a mid-size airline with its base at Copenhagen Airport, SAS Link will provide regional air traffic with a fleet of Embraer 195 E1 aircraft to be delivered by H1/2022.
The new structure with subsidiaries will provide SAS with four production platforms, with SAS International and SAS' wet lease business as the other two legs.
