Dec 08, 2021 (newstodate): Besides a court case by Investor group Loftleidir Cabo Verde against Cabo Verde over a dispute involving Cabo Verde Airlines, nationalized this summer, the fate of a Boeing 757-200 aircraft is also at stake.
The aircraft is one of three Boeing 757-300 aircraft owned by Icelandair and Loftleidir, and has not been handed back to its Icelandic owner after the breakdown of the JV after the airline's nationalization.
As for the other two Boeing 757-200 aircraft earlier dedicated to Cabo Verde Airlines, one was actually in Iceland for maintenance, and the other arrested by the Cabo Verde government since June 2021 over alleged debts reportedly headed back to Iceland in November 2021.
